Interscope Records est une maison de disques américaine créée par Jimmy Iovine et Ted Field en 1990, faisant partie du groupe Interscope-Geffen-A&M, filiale d'Universal Music Group.

Historique

Interscope a été créé grâce au soutien financier d'Atlantic Records, qui possède 50 % des parts du label.

Le premier album sorti par le label est celui du rappeur latino Gerardo, classé numéro 5 des ventes grâce à la chanson "Rico Suave" en 1991.

Pendant cette période, Interscope a également signé des contrats avec le rappeur Tupac Shakur (2 Pac), No Doubt et Nine Inch Nails. Des artistes étant chez Interscope Records peuvent aussi être chez Streamline Records, une filiale du label, exemple : Lady Gaga ou les Mindless Behavior.
