Qatar Investment Authority

Le Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) est le fonds d'investissement souverain de l’émirat du Qatar, présidé par l'émir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. Fondé en 2005, il détiendrait selon Hussein al-Abdallah (membre du conseil d'administration du Qatar Investment Authority) « beaucoup plus » que 100 milliards USD d'actifs.

Investissements

Le QIA contrôle un peu plus de 6 % du capital d'EADS, 10,1 % des actions du London Stock Exchange et 17 % de Volkswagen.

Il est actionnaire du Groupe Lagardère à hauteur de 12,83 %.

Le 31 mai 2011, QIA a acheté 70 % du capital du club de football Paris Saint-Germain au groupe américain Colony Capital (qui en détenait alors 95,8 %). Le 6 mars 2012, il lui a racheté les 30 % restants

Le 4 juin 2012, le QIA a acheté 100 % du capital du Paris Handball.

QIA achète, à Paris, l'Hôtel Lambert, l'Hotel Kinski, l'Hôtel Landolfo-Carcano, l'Hôtel d'Évreux, le Majestic, l'Hôtel Gray d'Albion, l'Hôtel de Coislin, les immeubles du Virgin Megastore (le 5 juin 2012), de HSBC et du Lido (décembre 2012)sur les Champs Elysées, le Royal Monceau et le Peninsula.
