Le championnat IndyCar Series 2014 est la 19^e saison du championnat d'IndyCar. Comportant 18 courses, il démarre le 30 mars à St. Petersburg et se termine le 30 août à Fontana.

Avec 62 points d'avance sur son coéquipier Hélio Castroneves, Will Power décroche son premier titre de champion d'IndyCar, devenant ainsi le premier australien à gagner le principal championnat américain de monoplaces. Le Team Penske voit un de ses pilotes remporter le titre pour la première fois depuis Sam Hornish Jr. en 2006. Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing), le champion 2013, termine 3^e, devant un autre pilote du Team Penske, le revenant Juan Pablo Montoya. Le français Simon Pagenaud complète le top 5 du championnat.

Chevrolet remporte le titre des motoristes face à Honda pour la troisième année consécutive, la marque américaine étant ainsi titrée à chaque fois depuis son retour dans le championnat en 2012. Ryan Hunter-Reay gagne les 500 miles d'Indianapolis, principale course de la saison. Carlos Muñoz obtient le titre de meilleur rookie du championnat.

IZOD ayant arrêté son partenariat à la fin de la saison 2013^[1], le nouveau sponsor-titre de l'IndyCar à partir de 2014 est Verizon^[2].

Écuries et pilotes[modifier | modifier le code]

Toutes les écuries ont des châssis Dallara DW12 équipés de pneus Firestone, qui est le fournisseur pneumatique officiel jusqu'en 2018. En ce qui concerne les moteurs, les écuries ont le choix entre Chevrolet ou Honda.

Les 500 Miles d'Indianapolis, la manche de Pocono et celle de Fontana font partie de la « triple couronne ». 1 million de dollars sont offerts au pilote qui réussira à remporter ces trois courses, et un prix de consolation de 250 000 dollars sera attribué au pilote qui réussira a remporter deux de ces trois courses.
