Tsering Shakya
Tsering Shakya ou Tsering Wangdu Shakya (tibétain : ཚེ་རིང་དབང་འདུས་ཤཱཀྱ་, Wylie : Tse-ring Dbang-'dus Shaakya) (né en 1959 à Lhassa) est un historien tibétain.
Biographie
Tsering Shakya est né au Tibet à Lhassa. Il s'est enfui en Inde après l'invasion chinoise du Tibet. Il a vécu à Londres où il obtenu une bourse d'étude, et a obtenu un diplôme de la School of Oriental and African Studies, une Université de Londres avec un B.A. Honours in Social Anthropology and South Asian History. Il s'est consacré à des recherches sur l'histoire du Tibet, et a obtenu son Master of Philosophy sur ses études tibétaines en 2000 et son Philosophiæ doctor en 2004 . Il est titulaire d’une Chaire de recherche du Canada en religion et en étude de la société asiatique contemporaine à l’Institute of Asian Research de l’Université de la Colombie-Britannique. Il est l'auteur de nombreux essais et articles, et de livres sur l'histoire du Tibet.
