Bethy Creek Resort, Riverside, Texas - photo © Jeanne MarkhamThis is our 6-year-old son Aidan. The photo was taken just steps outside our tent. Nice view, eh? He loved the camping trip as did everyone. Fishing, swimming, smores and movies projected on our friend's Airstream trailer at night made for an unforgettable weekend. ~ Jeanne

Camping Recipe of the Week
This recipe is the outcome of browsing the produce section of the grocery store looking for ingredients to make a quick and simple salad at the campground.
  • Sweet Slaw - submitted by David:
"To avoid cleaning up at the campground, I make my slaw at home the night before a camping trip. I put it all in the frig in a freezer Ziploc. It will keep in the cooler for several days."

How will the price of gas affect your camping trips?

Friday May 2, 2008
They say that when the economy suffers so does the travel industry. Many folks are planning to spend their vacations at home this year. I'd hate to own an RV with today's gas prices. In fact, I'd probably sell it and buy a tent.

RVers poll:
How will the price of gas affect your RV trips?
1.) I may park my RV for good
2.) I will be RVing closer to home
3.) I won’t be RVing as often
4.) I will continue RVing as usual
