  • Lynott est né le 20/08/1949 à Birmingham, d'un père brésilien (Cecil Parris) et d'une mère irlandaise (Philomena - Phyllis - Lynott). Il est élevé par sa grand-mère à Dublin. Sa mère s'installe à Manchester pour travailler.

Snowy White[modifier | modifier le code]

Snowy White, né le 3 mars 1948 à Barnstaple (Angleterre), est un guitariste de rock. A la fin des années 70, il accompagne Pink Floyd lors de deux tournées avant de remplacer Gary Moore au sein du groupe de hard rock irlandais Thin Lizzy. Il démarre ensuite une carrière sous son nom puis forme les groupes The Blues Agency et White Flames. Il a obtenu un grand succès en 1983 avec « Bird Of Paradise », une ballade langoureuse extraite de son premier album solo.

Snowy White naît dans le Comté de Devon (Angleterre). Il a 10 ans lorsque ses parents lui offrent sa première guitare. Il grandit sur l'île de Wight qu'il quitte à 17 ans. Après avoir passé un an et demi en Suède, il s'installe à Londres où il gagne sa vie comme musicien de studio et en donnant des concerts avec un groupe nommé Heavy Heart. De 1976 à 1980, il accompagne Pink Floyd pour les tournées des albums Animals et The Wall. Il rejoint ensuite Thin Lizzy après avoir recontré par hasard Scott Gorham dans un studio de répétition.

En 1983, il démarre une carrière solo.

Less people will know that Snowy also played with Al 'Year of the Cat' Stewart, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd's Richard Wright and ex-Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor.

Scott : we came back to London we held this open kind of audition. It really was truly horrendous. We did it on one of the sound stages down at Pinewood Studios. There was this huge line of guitarists waiting to come in and it was actually kind of soul destroying. So, I took a break and went to the different sound stages at the studios and just happened to walk on to Cliff Richard’s sound stage, of all people, and there was SNOWY WHITE. Both Phil and I had met Snowy about a year and a half earlier when he was playing with PINK FLOYD. So when Snowy took a break from the Cliff thing I said ‘hey man, would you come down and just have a blow at this? I’m going nuts with this audition thing!’ So he came down and we just started blowing and it sounded so good that we asked him to join the band right there on the spot.

Darren Wharton est né à Manchester, Angleterre en 1962. A 15 ans, il monte un groupe avec Simon Wright. En 1980, il joue des claviers sur l'album Chinatown de Thin Lizzy avant de devenir membre du groupe. Puis Renegade, Thunder & Lightning et Life. Ensuite, c'est Dare, avec Vinny Burns (guitare), Shelly (basse), Jim Ross (batterie) et Brian Cox (Claviers). Il chante et joue des claviers. Dare II : avec Nigel Clutterbuck (basse) et Greg Morgan (batterie). Et après, 21 Guns, avec Scott Gorham. Dare III : Darren (claviers), Andrew Moore (guitare), Martin Wilding (basse) et Julien Gardner (batterie).

DARE est un groupe Anglais qui a sorti son premier CD intitulé "OUT OF THE SILENCE" en 1988, album très prometteur cela dit en passant. Ce groupe dont le chanteur Darren WHARTON a joué au sein du groupe THIN LIZZY, a su se faire remarquer, puisqu'en 1989, DARE assure la première partie de Europe sur sa tournée européenne. Les chanceux ont donc eu le privilège de les découvrir lors des concerts français entres autres de Europe en 1989. Deuxième album "BLOOD FROM STONE" sorti en 1991 est plus énergique que le précédent, mené par le son de guitare pêchu de Vinny BURNS (parti depuis évolué au sein du non moins célèbre groupe de hard mélodique TEN). Puis un long silence, il faut attendre le printemps 1998, pour avoir le superbe "CALM BEFORE THE STORM" qui annonce le tournant mélancolique mais superbe de DARE. Nouveau line-up : toujours Darren WHARTON au chant, Richard DEWS et Andrew MOORE aux guitares, Julian GARDNER à la batterie. Automne 2001 sorti de "BELIEF", même line-up qu'en 1998. Toujours habitués aux superbes mélodies, DARE nous présente ici, un album aux influences Irlandaises qui se marient parfaitement à ce rythme mélodique. Album mélancolique certes, mais tellement magnifique. La voix chaude de Darren WHARTON vous fait frissonner. Beaucoup d'énergie tout de même pour ce superbe CD, qui sur 11 titres, totalise beaucoup de ballades qui vous enchantent. Mention spéciale à "We Were Friends" qui vous bouleverse d'entrée par sa beauté en mélodie, en voix, chorus... Intro influence irlandaise une fois de plus : total cette chanson me fait verser des larmes d'émotion à chaque fois. Les chansons de "BELIEF" qui se trouvent être plus énergique vous trottent dans la tête au long de votre journée. Résultat cet album est une pure merveille pour les oreilles : riche en émotion et sentiments très forts. Un carton plein dans mon coeur, pour moi l'un des plus beau CD de ces 5 dernières années. In 1962, DARREN WHARTON, keyboard player and the creative mastermind behind DARE, was born in Manchester, England. At the age of only 15 he founded his first band together with SIMON WRIGHT, who would later become the drummer of AC/DC. In 1980 Darren joined THIN LIZZY and recorded the famous "Chinatown" album with PHILLIP LYNOTT, SCOTT GORHAM, SNOWY WHITE and BRIAN DOWNEY. THIN LIZZY toured through Europe, America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. "Renegade" was the second THIN LIZZY-album Darren contributed to. The fourth one - a live album - was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. GARY MOORE, BRIAN ROBERTSON, SNOWY WHITE, ERIC BELL as well as Phil, Scott and Darren were part of the line-up. In 1984 the legendary group unfortunately disbanded. Darren returned to Manchester where he discovered a young guitarist called VINNY BURNS. Bass player SHELLY, drummer JIM ROSS and keyboarder player BRIAN COX finally completed the first DARE line-up, which was signed by A&M RECORDS. In 1988 the band recorded its debut album at JONI MITCHEL's studio in Beverly Hills. DARE also supported EUROPE, JIMMY PAGE and GARY MOORE among others on tour. The second album "Blood from Stone" was produced by KEITH OLSEN. Two new members, NIGEL CLUTTERBUCK (Bass) and GREG MORGAN (Drums) changed the line-up. After this, DARREN helped former Lizzy-companion SCOTT GORHAM with his solo-project "21 GUNS" before returning to North Wales in order to build his own recording studio. Back in Wales again, DARREN WHARTON composed new material for the album "Calm before the storm" together with his friend RICHARD DEWS. DARREN WHARTON on the keyboards, the young and exceedingly talented guitarist ANDREW MOORE, bass player MARTIN WILDING and drummer JULIEN GARDNER represented the new line-up of DARE. 1997 saw the world-wide release of "Calm Before The Storm", followed by the album "Belief" in 2001 and the current release "Beneath The Shining Water" (2004). Sensitive songs and ballads full of feelings are like a mirror to the soul and a door to the heart of this unique songwriter. Again and again, numerous fans from all over the world kept asking for live recordings of DARE performances. On the occasion of the Munich based open air music festival 'DEEP IMPACT 2004', the label MTM MUSIC decided to record a live DVD as well as a live CD for the first time ever. In addition to the actual concert, the DVD contains a previously unreleased video clip to the song "Deliverance" as well as an interview and numerous information from the personal environment of Darren Wharton. The DVD's and CD's booklet includes liner notes written by Birgitt Schwanke, who is the publisher of one of Germany's leading melodic rock magazines.
