Stephane Moraille is a Canadian singer, songwriter, attorney, former politician and educator. Moraille uses her rich heritage and extensive experience in the creative industry to inspire, instruct and entertain audiences and young creatives.[modifier | modifier le code]


Born in Haiti, Moraille moved to Montreal in 1986 where she studied to be a professional dancer. In 1993 she launched her singing career as Shauna Davis, and in 1997 she rose to fame as the vocalist for the collective Bran Van 3000 whose hit single Drinking in L.A. reached top 10 charts around the world.

After a series of international tours as an artist, she gained interest in the business side of the creative industry. Inspired by her family’s legal heritage and driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, she became an attorney. Her practice covers the areas of music, film, television, museum law and technological arts (VR, AR, XR, etc.). Moraille holds a master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from Osgoode Hall Law School (York University) and is currently director of Legal and Business Affairs at PHIs .

Moraille is passionate about arts and entertainment business models that aim to bridge the current wealth gap, to ensure continuous culturally diverse innovation, and increase the public’s enjoyment of the arts. She is part of the renowned Phoenix Music Executive Development Program team as a law and business risk assessment teacher. Moraille is also the jury president of the Dynasty Gala, highlighting black excellence in Quebec. A regular contributor to Radio Canada’s political and cultural affairs, she is a sought after analyst for the Canadian Independent Music Association’s initiative on breaking down racial barriers, and has spoken on cultural policy at the Pop Montreal Symposium. Moraille is also currently a board director of the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec. An excellent communicator and passionate  about training a dynamic new generation of lawyers, she regularly teaches and leads conferences and workshops.

She has also received numerous awards from the music industry as part of the collective Bran Van 3000. In 2015 Moraille was nominated for the Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize.

In 2017 Moraille reignited her singing career under her own name with the EP Pi Wo followed by the 2018 album Daiva. Singing in a mix of English and Creole, Moraille
