ZAKLINA VLCEVSKA[modifier | modifier le code]

Zaklina Vlcevska (Zaklina Vlcevska Vasilevska), born July 7th, 1970. She's a British model, actress, dancer, and banker.

She won the Miss Skopje title in Macedonia in 1987.

Early Life and Family[modifier | modifier le code]

Vlcevska was born in Skopje, Macedonia, the daughter of grocery store owners Grozdanka Vasilevska and Aleksandar Vasilevski Vlcevska has one younger brother, Zvonko, a company director. Zaklina’s name was inspired by the name of First Lady in the United States of America, Jacqueline Kennedy. As a child, Vlcevska developed great talents for modelling, acting, and dancing. Gifted with artistic abilities, Vlcevska performed at various theatre representations at her school. At the age of ten, Vlcevska was accepted in the Musical Youth of Skopje where she completed an acting course.

Vlcevska attended her local school in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. Particularly good at literary subjects, Vlcevska was awarded for her writing talents, revealing a special gift in poetry. Since then, she continues writing, mainly as an amateur. Interested in pursuing a career in acting and modelling, Vlcevska’s parents encouraged her to rather follow a course in telecommunications. Vlcevska successfully completed her diploma in telecommunications.

However, strongly determined to settle and achieve her dreams in England, Vlcevska moved to London, United Kingdom when she was 20. Aware of how competitive the modeling and filming industries were in London, Vlcevska decided to hold a degree in Business and Finance to find a job that allowed her to cover the expensive costs of the London life. Vlcevska studied English at Kingsway College in London before completing an HND in Business and Finance with high honors at Westminster University in London.

Modelling Career[modifier | modifier le code]

Vlcevska first began modelling at age 14, posing for clothing lines in Macedonia. She also was the face of fashion boutiques in Skopje. In 1989, Vlcevska joined a modelling course at the Musical Youth of Skopje. The following year, Vlcevska was discovered by various modelling agencies in London, United Kingdom. Settled in the fashion capital, Vlcevska worked as a bank employee and a restaurant manager while she was developing her modelling career in England. She signed up many modelling contracts and received countless job opportunities. In 1995, Vlcevska was offered one of her highest-paid contracts to pose for a renowned lingerie company based in London, United Kingdom.

During a doctor appointment before signing up her contract, Vlcevska discovered that she was pregnant with her first child, Ilija. Focusing on her family, Vlcevska then declined to sign the contract. She gave birth to her son on June 9th, 1995 and to her daughter, Alexandra, on July 20th, 2001. Raising her family and working full-time as a financial consultant, it is only in the early 2000s that Vlcevska returned to modelling.

In 1998, Vlcevska was involved in school fashion shows, presenting new clothing lines to support charity. In 2013, Vlcevska paraded for fashion designer Luisa Spagnoli during the WIZO Fashion Show. Vlcevska won the award of Platinum Model. In 2017, Vlcevska decided to enter beauty pageant competitions in the United Kingdom, for which she has been successfully short-listed.

Vlcevska played her first roles in Macedonia when she appeared in TV commercials and TV series on many channels broadcasted in Macedonia, after completing the Musical Youth of Skopje acting course in 1980. Ambitious and making the most of the opportunities she had in London, United Kingdom, Vlcevska first started as a background actress in many movies. In 2009, Vlcevska appears in English TV series Nemesis. In 2012, she performs in the movie Diana alongside actress Naomi Watts.

In 2013, Vlcevska plays in the movie Before I Go to Sleep, sharing the set with actress Nicole Kidman. A year later, Vlcevska is selected for the blockbuster 007 Spectre, with actor Daniel Craig and actress and model Monica Bellucci. In 2016, Vlcevska is casted in the movie Annihilation starring actress Natalie Portman. Finally, in 2017, Vlcevska is offered roles in top BBC TV programs McMafia and The Crown as well as in movie Mamma Mia 2. During her acting career, Vlcevska had two opportunities to play main roles, which she both refused due to movie schedule conflicts. Leaving her financial analyst job in 2017, Vlcevska is now focusing mainly on her acting career while still accepting modelling contracts.

Vlcevska developed a very unique fashion trend, wearing different clothes styles according to the seasons, events, and places where she is. Vlcevska creates her own costumes and outfits for most movies in which she plays. Vlcevska’s versatile style allows her to play many different roles from member of the nobility in The Crown to female villain in James Bond.

Vlcevska lives with her two children, Ilija and Alexandra, in London, United Kingdom. As an altruistic person, Vlcevska has helped many people, especially from Macedonia, settle in London. Vlcevska is a polyglot; she speaks fluently seven languages: Macedonian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatian, English, Polish, and Russian. She also masters various dance styles: contemporary, disco, and folk.
