T-Groep is an HR service provider, active in Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. The company is known on the Belgian market through its sub-brands: t-interim, t-office, t-care, t-dienstencheques, Amplo, Ascento and IPMT. In the Netherlands and Poland, t-groep operates via the brands Luba, Techprofs and E&A. The group is in the top 5 leaders of the HR sector in Belgium.
History[modifier | modifier le code]
Where it began[modifier | modifier le code]
The entity today known as T-Groep was created on March 20th 1984 as part of the RVA (National Employment Office). At the time, it operated under the name of its sub-brand: t-Services. Two years later in 1986, t-Services changes to t-Interim for the Flemish Region.
In 1997, T-Groep (t-Interim, at the time) was the first employment and HR group to participate to such a project as the reconversion of Renault.
A first big change[modifier | modifier le code]
In 2002, the group faced a major change. It decided to split from its partner VDAB and restructured the corporation. t-Interim, was renamed in T-Groep SA within which the t-Interim sub-brand was created and its major sub-brand, t-consult, became Ascento. As from then, the Flemish Government became the main shareholder and the company was given a new logo. When these changes occurred, the brand had 40 offices and a turnover of approximately 90 million Euros
A year later, t-Interim, T-Groep’s second main sub-brand, acquired recognition for their service vouchers and as a Social Agency for Artists. The company decided to create a new brand around this specific service. They called it t-Heater in 2004 and renamed it in Amplo in 2018.
Expansion[modifier | modifier le code]
Later in 2005, T-Groep started to be considered and has been accredited for its activities in the Brussels’ region. The group immediately decided to open 4 offices in the city. Due to the wide range of activities the group was conducting, it decided to launch different “t” brands within the t-Interim banner. T-Interim then regrouped the t-heater (Amplo today), t-Dienstencheques and t-Office niche brands. The first office to be created in Wallonia will appear in 2009.
In 2010, the company saw, through its sub-brand, Ascento, a new opportunity to be an important player in the field of outplacement by helping the automotive industry for the second time. This happened when Opel decided to undertake their reconversion. A few years later, Ascento had grown into an organisation with 10 permanent offices and several satellite offices where the main activity scopes were outplacement, recruiting & selection, career counselling, leadership paths and HR interim management.
Privatisation[modifier | modifier le code]
In 2016, the arrival of a new majority shareholder (Gilde Buy Out Partners) rang in another major change. T-groep SA has now grown to become a strongly rising international group with more than 350 million euros in sales. T-Groep is being transformed into a private independent commercial enterprise with a strong focus on growth.
In 2017, Tom Verhaegen was appointed as the new CEO of the group.
Sector and competitors[modifier | modifier le code]
T-Groep is hard to be linked to a single sector of activity because of its diversity of actions and its size within the market. Though, it is mainly linked to the HR - Interim sector. Its main competitors are: Randstad, Adecco, Accent, Manpower and Unique
