La saison 2021-2022 est la 28^e saison du Championnat d'Allemagne de hockey sur glace depuis la création de la Deutsche Eishockey-Liga.

DEL

La saison commence le 9 septembre 2021 et se termine le 5 mai 2022. Les séries éliminatoires débutent en mars et se terminent au plus tard en mai 2022. C'est la première saison avec une équipe reléguée^[1].

Saison Régulière

La saison 2021-2022 est composée de 15 clubs, les quatorze de la saison précédente et le champion de DEL2, Bietigheim Steelers. Tous les clubs de la pré-saison ont déposé une licence^[2].

Le tour préliminaire se déroule en mars 2022 au meilleur des trois matchs^[3].

Le tournoi final se déroule au meilleur des sept rencontres^[4].

DEL2

La saison 2021-2022 est la 9^e saison du Championnat d'Allemagne de hockey sur glace D2 depuis la création de la Deutsche Eishockey-Liga 2. La saison commence le 1^er octobre 2021 et se termine en mars 2022. Les séries éliminatoires débutent en mars et se terminent au plus tard en avril 2022.

Modus

Les 14 équipes jouent un double tour (52 matchs chacune). Les huit premières équipes se qualifient directement pour les quarts de finale des barrages, qui se jouent au meilleur des sept. Les demi-finales et la finale devraient se dérouler dans le meilleur des cinq modes. Pour les équipes aux places 9 et 10, la saison se termine après le tour principal. Les équipes classées 11 à 14 jouent une ligue reléguée dans les play-down au format best-of-sept^[5].
