Petit message[modifier le code]

My great-grandfather, Andreas Roggy, was born at the farm Olferding just outside the village of Gros Réderching on 28 November 1852. He was part of an Anabaptist family with a long history of farming in this area of the Moselle and also in Alsace. He lived in this little village and there he married Anne Marie Keller on 10 September 1881. Anne Marie was born 10 September 1863. Four children were born to them them here before they left for America in 1886. They settled in Brooklyn, which is part of New York City. It was there that they had 12 more children. This is a large family now here in the United States but we have not forgotten our humble "roots" in Gros Réderching. This will always be considered one of my ancestral homes. I hope one day to visit there and walk the streets that my ancestors walked centuries ago. I send my warmest regards and well wishes to the people of Gros Réderching and to their fine country. Vive la France! (John Payne, Milford, Connecticut, USA - courriel@supprimé (pourquoi ?))
