A math trick[modifier le code]

A math trick: Because the least common multiple of 7 and 11 and 13 together (three prime numbers!) is 1001, you can with only a pen and paper quickly see if a large number for example 1234567890 is divisible by 7, or 11, or 13. Divide that large number by 1001 and divide the rest (thus NOT the quotient!) thereafter by 7, or 11, or 13. Then that division goes up completely, then is that large number divisible by 7, or 11, or 13. This prevents long long divisions! The same math trick can be applied by 14 and 22 and 26 but then one has to divide go through first 2002 instead by 1001. 82.170.17.19 (discuter) 10 novembre 2022 à 14:51 (CET)[répondre]
