Rapport du 4e événement majeur de formation et de contribution à Wikipédia dans le cadre du projet "Histoire du Québec et de l'Amérique du Nord francophone"[modifier le code]

Suite à l'annulation de l'événement du 16 mars 2020 intitulé « La Grande Wikiphonie » pour cause de crise de la Covid-19, la Fondation Lionel-Groulx a suggéré aux personnes organisatrices Jean-Benoît Nadeau et Julie Barlow ainsi qu'à l'organisme BAnQ de proposer un événement de formation en ligne à Wikipédia. Forte de son expertise, la Fondation Lionel-Groulx a ainsi pu contacter une quinzaine de personnes reliées à la francophonie au Canada et qui n'auraient pas pu se joindre à la rencontre du 16 mars qui comportait un volet formation.

Le 27 mars 2020, JBouchez, wikimédien en résidence et Mathieugp, chargé des projets numériques ont donné la formation en ligne à 13 personnes (deux personnes ne se sont pas connectées) en utilisant le matériel spécialement dédié à cet effet. La formation a respecté le plan de la demi-journée que nous avions établi plusieurs mois auparavant. De plus, après la partie théorique, les participant.e.s ont pu apprendre concrètement les rudiments de la construction d'un article dans Wikipédia grâce à un exercice créé à l'occasion à partir d'un brouillon suggérant l'architectonique type d'un article sur un événement, en l'occurrence la Crise sentinelliste.

En date du 2 avril 2020, 8 personnes sur 13 ont répondu au sondage. Cinq questions ont été envoyées aux participant.e.s :

Bilan de l'événement[modifier le code]

Cette demi-journée de formation en ligne est un beau succès compte tenu de la situation au Québec qui a causé l'annulation de l'événement La Grande Wikiphonie. Grâce à son expertise, la Fondation Lionel-Groulx a su proposer à ses partenaires un plan B afin de donner l'occasion à des personnes de se former à Wikipédia malgré la confinement. Cela a également permis de renforcer la pertinence des formations en ligne tout en utilisant un logiciel libre.

Report of the 4th major training and contribution event to Wikipedia as part of the project "History of Quebec and French North America"[modifier le code]

Following the cancellation of the event of March 16, 2020 entitled "La Grande Wikiphonie" due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Fondation Lionel-Groulx suggested to the organizers Jean-Benoît Nadeau and Julie Barlow as well as to BAnQ to offer an online training event to Wikipedia. Thanks to its expertise, the Fondation Lionel-Groulx was able to contact fifteen people related to the Francophonie in Canada who could not have joined the meeting of March 16 which included a training component.

On March 27, 2020, JBouchez, wikimedian in residence, and Mathieugp, digital projects manager, gave online training to 13 people (two other people did not connect despite registering) using the equipment specially dedicated for this purpose. The training respected the half-day plan that we had established several months earlier. In addition, after the theoretical part, the participants were able to learn concretely the rudiments of the construction of an article in Wikipedia thanks to an exercise created on the occasion from a draft suggesting the architectonic type of a article on an event, in this case the Sentinelle Crisis.

Overview of the event[modifier le code]

This half-day of online training is a great success given the situation in Quebec that caused the cancellation of the La Grande Wikiphonie event. Thanks to its expertise, the Fondation Lionel-Groulx was able to offer its partners a Plan B in order to give people the opportunity to train in Wikipedia despite the containment measures. It also helped to strengthen the relevance of online training while using free software.
