Tyrannochthonius est un genre de pseudoscorpions de la famille des Chthoniidae.

Les espèces de ce genre se rencontrent en Amérique, en Asie, en Océanie et en Afrique[1].

L'espèce Tyrannochthonius psoglavi a été placée dans le genre Neobalkanella par Ćurčić en 2013[2].

Systématique et taxinomie[modifier | modifier le code]

Ce genre a été décrit par Chamberlin en 1929 dans les Chthoniidae.

Parachthonius[3] a été placé en synonymie par Mahnert en 1986[4].

Pholeochthonius[5] a été placé en synonymie par Harvey en 1989[6].
