Timothy Treadwell was one hell of a marvelous and courageous human being. I knew him for over a decade. I followed and supported his work and I enjoyed his company. I had my disagreements with him and he with me but the bottom line was we were friends and we had a mutual love for nature and for the creatures of the wild. Timothy was a vegetarian. I wonder how many of his critics eat the flesh of animals as they lament the two bears that were killed by the troopers? La nouvelle "Gabrielle" de Franck Thilliez (Au delà de l'horizon et autres nouvelles, 2020) s'inspire librement de l'histoire de Timothy Treadwell. on y retrouve des éléments particuliers à cette tragédie comme l'enregistrement de la mort d'un des personnages par une attaque de grizzly sur une caméra.
