Arms: Egerton quartering Grey (undifferenced), all impaling Haynes (Or, on a fess gules three plates in chief a greyhound courant azure alternatively Or, on a fess gules three bezants in chief a greyhound courant sable (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.473, Hayne/Haynes )). John Egerton, 7th Earl of Bridgewater was a son of John Egerton, Bishop of Durham (son of Henry Egerton, Bishop of Hereford, youngest son of John Egerton, 3rd Earl of Bridgewater), by his wife Anne Sophia Grey, one of the daughters and co-heiresses of Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Kent.
