Aavindraa : It's very long. First page, roughly translated: Historical recollection of what happened about the portrait of Mrs Lange, wife Simons, from the journal des arts (marant?) 1799. It is unknown what ssubject can have caused such a special event that took place on Aug 2 1799. Mr. Giraudet, painter, whose value is known and recognized, removed from the exhibition room his painting representing Mrs. Lange, wife Simon's. After having kept the painting in his workshop, he handed it back, carefully wrapped, to Mr. D'Aulnoy, one of the guardians of the museum, asking him to bring it to Mrs Simons, accompanied by a letter...
