Le plus grand de ses 56 villages était Hasan Langi-ye Bala, avec 1 943 habitants.[2] Après le recensement, le district rural a été séparé du district lors de la création du district de Shamil, qui a été divisé en deux districts ruraux.[3]

Shamil Rural District (Persian: دهستان شميل) is in Shamil District of Bandar Abbas County, Hormozgan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Shamil.

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of Takht District) was 22,280 in 4,949 households. There were 24,154 inhabitants in 6,198 households at the following census of 2011. At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 24,268 in 6,924 households. The largest of its 56 villages was Hasan Langi-ye Bala, with 1,943 people.

After the census, the rural district was separated from the district in the establishment of Shamil District, which was divided into two rural districts.
