I work mostly on en-Wiki under the same name. My French is schoolboy and old, but I often find that I can get the gist of things from Latin similarities, especially in technical topics. And there is Google translate. I have gotten info from French (and German) Wiki and brought it back to English wiki, so translation is not a one way street. In particiular have found stubs on French Wiki for several herpetologists (someone must have had an interest here) and have brought one or two back.
