Stanley Vollant was born in 1965 on April 2nd. He is an Innu surgeon from the aboriginal community of Pessamit, located by the course of the St-Lawrence River, in the Côte-Nord region (Province of Quebec).

In 1994, he became the first aboriginal surgeon born in Québec. [1] He is specialized in laparoscopy [2] and in 2010, he became the coordinator of the Aboriginal component of the Faculty of Medicine of University of Montreal.[3].

Involved in multiple social causes, he is known for his walk Innu meshkenu which aims at raising Aboriginal people's awareness concerning healthy life habits.[4],[5].
