Que signifie le mot île pour vous

Bonjour,
J’espère que vous passez une bonne journée. Désolé de vous déranger avec ce message dans mon pauvre anglais. Ne parlant pas votre langue, je me suis dit que c'était le meilleurs moyen de communiquer avec toutes les personnes de Wikipédia dans les différentes langues.
Ma famille est originaire d'une petite île bretonne en France (Belle-Île-en-Mer qui signifie Beauty island in the sea en anglais). Jadis, une personne de ma famille, à écrit un poème se terminant par la bien nommée (the well named en anglais). Mon amour pour les îles vient de cette histoire familiale. C'est pourquoi j'ai créé sur le Wikipedia en français à l'instar de celui en anglais un projet et un portail.
Mon intérêt pour les îles, et les différentes cultures, me fait penser qu'une personne habitant à Bugala Island en Uganda au sein du Lake Victoria, une autre habitant sur Baffin Island au Nunavut au Canada, une personne habitant Orchid Island une île de Taiwan ou une personne habitant à Canton Island, au Kiribati, une île au milieu du Pacific Ocean n'auront pas la même vision/ressenti d'une île que moi. C'est pourquoi cela m'amène aujourd'hui à vous poser des questions sur ces 3 thèmes :

• Mot : Existe-t-il un ou plusieurs termes pour nommer une île. Connaissez-vous une langue/dialec où il n'y a pas de mot à ce sujet.
• Définition : Quelle est la ou les définitions du terme île dans votre langue/culture. Il peut effectivement y en avoir plusieurs suivant les domaines (Géographie, juridique, culturelle, ...). Une fois établie cette définition y a t il des limites (taille, occupation, utilisation, ...) qui pourraient exclure certains des objets pouvant être retenu par ailleurs suivant la définition.
• Classification : Existe t il une manière de classer les îles et suivant quels critères dans votre langue/culture?
• Culture : Quelle utilisation est faite dans votre culture (tradition orale, mythologie, littérature, peinture,.... ) du terme île. D'autre part, existe t il des traditions expliquant la création des îles ou de certaines.

Expliquer et donner des exemples sur ces différents thèmes en anglais. D'autre part, toutes les références quelque soit la langue seront les bienvenues (Bibliographie, lien web, citation,....) What does the word island mean to you ?

Hello,
I hope you have a nice day. Sorry to bother you with this message in my poor English, but I don't speaking your language. So I thought it was the best way to communicate with all the people on Wikipedia in the different languages.
My family is from a small island in France (she's name Belle-Île-en-Mer which means Beauty island in the sea in English). Formerly, a member of my family, wrote a poem about this island who end with la bien nommée (the well named in English). My love for the islands came from this family history. This is why I created on the French Wikipedia like the English one a project and a portail.
My interest in islands, and different cultures, make me think that a person living on Bugala Island in Uganda within Lake Victoria, another living on Baffin Island in Nunavut in Canada, a person living on Orchid Island an island in Taiwan or a person living in Canton Island, Kiribati, an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean will not have the same vision/feeling of an island as me. This is why this leads me today to ask you questions on these 3 themes:

• Word : Have you one or more terms to name an island. Do you know any language/dialec where there is no word for it.
• Definition : What is the definition(s) of the term island in your language/culture? There can actually be several depending on the domain (Geography, legal, cultural, etc.). Once this definition has been established, are there any limits (size, occupation, use, etc.) that could exclude some of the objects that may otherwise be retained according to the definition.
• Classification : Is there a way to classify the islands and according to what criteria ?
• Culture : What use is made in your culture (oral tradition, mythology, literature, painting,....) of the term island. On the other hand, are there any traditions explaining the creation of the islands or of certain ones.
