Hello @ManuRoquette, thank you for your feedback. First: sorry to reply to you in English, but my written French is not good enough to reply in French. Do feel free to continue writing in French yourself, though.
I was unaware of having done something wrong. I am a board member of Skepp and we are going through a restyling operation - and as a part of that I also wanted to remove the old logo from the Wikipedia page and put the new one there. Should that not be done by uploading the file? DaleCooper32 (discuter) 25 mars 2023 à 20:01 (CET)[répondre]
And most importantly: what needs to be done to correct the situation? Thank you for your help. DaleCooper32 (discuter) 25 mars 2023 à 20:04 (CET)[répondre]
Hi, the "Commons" website is dedicated to hosting images that are in the public domains (logos aren't as they are owned by the company they represent). There are exceptions but in general if you want to add a file on commons it needs either (1) to have been previously published under a Creative Commons licence or another free licence, (2) to be your own work, you are the only owner of the rights associated to the file and you chose to put it in the public domain (the option you picked when you uploaded the logo) or (3) it needs to be not original enough to qualify for copyright (which is usually the case for pieces of text, graphs or signatures for instance). In your case, I changed the parameters of your file to say it belongs in the third category (as it's only made of letters and rectangles, there is a case to be made that it does not meet the threshold of originality)
I don't think anyone will challenge this but if someone does, your file will be deleted from commons. If this happend you can still upload it on the french wikipedia using this link.
long story short, you should be good from now on and shouldn't have anything to do (I think). Émoticône --ManuRoquette 🌍 (Discutons !) 25 mars 2023 à 22:16 (CET)[répondre]
