Le fichier File:Cambridge shield.png utilisé sur cet article a été proposé à la suppression sur Commons. Le motif invoqué est : « Many inconsistencies between this and the official logo. File:University of Cambridge coat of arms official.svg is a very good copy of the official PNG download ([1], University members only, but there's smaller copies in the page navigation.) The lions are very different, despite the style of lion used on the official logo being important; it's used in a number of other departments and societies of the university (see e.g. University of Cambridge Sport logo). The central book is also wrong, as is the ermine fur detailing. ». Le motif invoqué est : « This file should actually be speedily deleted as clear copyright, but I'm nominating it again because of the previous deletion nomination. The participants in the previous deletion discussion did not properly understand the guidelines on copyright of coats of arms. The general copyright rules about heraldry mean that artists are free to design THEIR OWN VERSION of other people's coats of arms and upload it to Commons. It does not mean that OTHER PEOPLE's VERSIONS of the coats of arms are not copyrighted to them, because they certainly are. This SVG file is taken directly from the Cambridge University Press logo uploaded to Wikipedia in 2011 under the Non-free use rationale guideline, and it does not qualify to be on Commons. Simply cropping out the text does not make it eligible to be uploaded to Commons! The description of the logo on Wikipedia states it was taken from a PDF of an annual report, and note it is in vector format. This means it was created by an artist today somewhere on a computer, probably based on someone else's design, and neither of those artists nor the University of Cambridge have released it under a CC license that would make it eligible for upload. This specific design was taken from Cambridge University's current official logo, which we are not entitled to put on Commons. Please see the university's page here about its coat of arms (under its "brand resources"), with the photo of the relief of the coat of arms on a building, but please note the logo in the upper left corner of the website. It is clear by the font and style that that is a modern logo with a modern design of the university's arms. On that page, there is a link to download the logo, but even that page is restricted to people who have online access to Cambridge University. So to summarize, there are probably hundreds of versions of this coat of arms that various artists have created, and each version is copyrighted to those artists. We already have many versions on Commons that artists have designed and uploaded (see Category:Coats of arms of the University of Cambridge. I cannot find any example of THIS version of the arms existing prior to 1923, and it certainly didn't exist in vector format. Please see page 4 of this booklet on the arms of Cambridge University, from 1931. It's dramatically different. Even THAT version, from 1931, can't be uploaded to Commons under US-1923! So one that was designed much more recently and taken from a 2010 annual report certainly fails the standard as well for public domain. ».
