KARATE 1- YOUTH CUP [Download Bulletin]

Dear participant,

After the four first successful editions, we face in 2012 the 5th edition of the WKF Youth Camp and World Cup but in a karate1 format. This year it includes the addition of the children categories and the WKF karate1 Cup will take place in parallel with the youth camp. Again in Greece, in the very beautiful island of Corfu, where the participants are going to find the ideal conditions to fulfil the objective of the Camp; what it is like to train with top world champions in a friendly and cosmopolitan atmosphere whilst getting in touch for a whole week with the state of the art sport of Karate.

Corfu has experienced the organization of the 3rd Youth Camp & Cup that assures this WKF karate1 – Youth Cup will be a complete success.

Finally, I would like to thank the Hellenic Karate Federation and the local authorities for their help and support and I am looking forward to welcoming you all personally.

New Karate 1-Youth League to showcase Karate’s influence on young ages 2017-12-12

The popularity of Karate among youngsters will be further showcased next year with the KARATE 1-YOUTH LEAGUE. The newly-created competition makes its debut in 2018 and aims at highlighting the growing influence of the sport in young ages.

Established under the umbrella of Karate 1, and designed to complete the Karate 1-Premier League and Karate 1-Series A, the Karate 1-Youth League is created following the remarkable success of underage Karate competitions. Karatekas aged 12 to 17 will have the opportunity to display their abilities and continued progress in the sport in this first edition of the series of events for youngsters.

Four tournaments will comprise the 2018 Karate 1-Youth League. The new competition format is due to begin in Sofia (Bulgaria) in May and will conclude in Caorle-Venice (Italy) in December. The 2018 Karate 1-Youth League will also visit Umag (Croatia) in June and Cancun-Quintana Roo (Mexico) in October.

As the Karate world is counting the days to enjoy the anticipated debut of the sport at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2018, the World Karate Federation unveiled the new international event to provide more platforms for the development of young competitors.

Over 2000 young karatekas from 64 countries participated this year in the WKF Youth Camp which was held in Umag (Croatia). The Karate 1-Youth League is expected to continue the record-breaking participation of youngsters in major underage international events thus further demonstrating the expansion of youth Karate.

The 2018 Karate 1-Youth League:

May 25-27: Sofia (Bulgaria) July 6-8: Umag (Croatia) October 26-28: Cancun-Quintana Roo (Mexico) December 14-16: Caorle-Venice (Italy)
