Indo-French film to depict Goan culture

Goa born French national, Domingo Fernandes, produce and Directed a 35-mm film In my secret life, which will be dubbed simultaneously in European and Indian languages, including Konkani. Domingo describes the film as “an artistic revival of the erstwhile old Portuguese colony”. The first Indo-French film venture is being promoted with an aim to depicting the cultural ethos of both countries. The shooting of the film will be done in Goa and France, and is slated to begin within two months. According to the shooting schedule, the crew will film the Goan part of the movie over a two-month span. Supported by the Film Society of France, the film directed by Domingo, who has to his credit several films and documentaries. The film will also have songs set to European and Indian music, The technical staff will be flown in from France. The film will be marketed to European countries, besides in Asian countries. Domingo migrated to Paris at a tender age, completed his diploma in French Film University, Paris, and has several artistic documentaries and feature films under his belt. He has also assisted contemporary French and American film directors like Martin Scorcese. Domingo believes that through his new venture, he will be able to expose Goan culture to the rest of world as well as bring western culture closer to the Goan audience. It is with this objective in mind that the film will be dubbed in Konkani. The film deals with the phenomenon of double adaptation, immigration and the difficulties and dilemmas faced by the protagonist. The theme is well handled with tones of comedy tinted with truth. What compels an Indian Goan to leave his family and friends and come to France? What are the working conditions that await him? How does he spend his day-to-day life in France? Carefully studying these questions, Domingo has crafted an attention-grabbing script for the film.
