DescriptionTartan Skene.jpg	English: The consensus of opinion is that Smith's version of the Skene tartan was taken from a variation produced by Wilson's of Bannockburn, and that it is not the original sett. The methodology of this conclusion is complex, and makes an interesting study. It involves the Mar, Logan, and Rose tartans and is based on documented evidence in the Wilson's pattern books. Wilson's of Bannockburn a weaving firm founded c1770 near Stirling. W and A Smith Authenicated Tartans of the Clans and Families of Scotland.1850.
