English: The Anglican parish church at Saxilby is dedicated to St. Botolph. The civil parish is known as Saxilby-with-Ingleby, Ingleby* being a small community a mile to the north of Saxilby village. The church has various styles of architecture with the present building dating back at least 900 years. The church was partially restored in 1886 and during further restoration work in 1929 a doorway was discovered set in rubble wall and covered in plaster which appears to be Saxon although more likely is Early Norman giving evidence of much earlier alterations to the building. At Ingleby is a medieval shrunken settlement Earth work part of which was excavated in 1966-1967 to reveal the remains of a moated round stone building thought to have possibly been a monastic grange.
