Main altar, pulpit, and Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the north transept at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. The north entrance to the nave can be seen left. Above it is a mural depicting some of the Seven Sorrows of Mary. In the center foreground is the main altar. In the center background is the Chapel of the Sacred Heart in the north transept. Above is the "Hand of God" rose window. To the right is the pulpit (or ambo). It features a high-relief carving of St. Stephen, an early Christian martyr known for his eloquent preaching. He holds a basket of stones (indicative of how he was stoned to death) and a palm branch (a symbol of martyrdom). The lit entrance is to the Mortuary Chapel, where bishops of Cleveland are buried.
