The Republic of Uganda recognizes subsidiary monarchial states as "traditional cultural entities". The six major Kingdoms are listed below. Of these, only Nkore (Ankole) remains unrecognized by the government of the Republic of Uganda.

Therefore, applying Semi-Salic law then the current heir to the principalities of Schwarzburg is Friedrich Magnus, Count of Solms-Wildenfels (born 1927) the son of Princess Marie Antoinette of Schwarzburg (1898–1984), sister of Prince Friedrich Günther, the last pretender of Schwarzburg Principalities.
