Modèle:Infobox Personnage (fiction)

[modifier le code]

Could someone please update this infobox to transclude image of cosplay (P13632)? On Wikidata we have been moving photographs of cosplay from image (P18) to image of cosplay (P13632). These photographs are no longer being included in French Wikipedia infoboxes due to the lack of transclusion in the infobox--Trade (discuter) 30 octobre 2025 à 16:00 (CET)Répondre

@Trade I don't think it affects French Wikipedia because {{Infobox Personnage (fiction)}} does not call P13632. The picture is locally set with the image parameter. Thanks for warning though, I opened a topic in the template talk page, for information. — Pharma 💬 2 janvier 2026 à 00:28 (CET)Répondre

The banners under this logo clearly say not to transfer it. I'd ask on Commons. Trizek bla 10 décembre 2025 à 12:41 (CET)Répondre

Accused of spamming

[modifier le code]
Delaforce 1985 (vintage)

I recently added the above image to Porto (DOC). Utilisateur:Evynrhud removed it with an edit summary "Publicité", which I understand to be an accusation of advertising, or spamming.

I explained on their talk page (in English, with a Google translation into French) that this is not the case; and asked them to restore the image. Despite being very active today, they have ignored my post.

On en.Wikipedia, I would next refer this matter to administrators at their noticeboard. I don't know what the accepted practice for such escalation is on this project, and am disadvantaged by not speaking French. Please advise. Pigsonthewing (discuter) 5 janvier 2026 à 23:18 (CET)Répondre

I'd let @Evynrhud reply; here is my own interpretation.
I know who you are, and that you aren't adding this image to promote this wine. Not everyone know you though. And we have a lot of attempts of product placements at our wiki by accounts with less than 500 edits. The fact that you posted the image, and asked to have the caption being translated, might have been understood the wrong way. Adding the same image again later, at a different place, could have increased this feeling.
Trizek bla 6 janvier 2026 à 15:32 (CET)Répondre
And how does that explain or justify my subsequent talk page post being ignored? Pigsonthewing (discuter) 6 janvier 2026 à 15:42 (CET)Répondre
Have you considered that they could have they kept it for later and forgot about it?
Or that some cultural differences created a distance? I read the message you left, which is:
  • in English (with a translation that sounds very demanding),
  • with no greetings (I can't get used to that English Wikipedia trait of not saying hello at the start of a message),
  • with your resume in to explain that you are right.
It is not really engaging, I'm afraid. Have you considered having a less intimidating way of explaining things?
Trizek bla 6 janvier 2026 à 19:46 (CET)Répondre
It's been four days now, during which time they have edited this wiki every day; and have edited their talk page; and in which time both you and I have pinged them here. Do you consider that long enough to wait for a response, and sufficient reminders?
As to your other comments, are you really blaming their false accusation and lack of response on me? Pigsonthewing (discuter) 8 janvier 2026 à 14:36 (CET)Répondre
I think you both have responsibilities there. I also think that passer à autre chose should be cited now. Trizek bla 9 janvier 2026 à 11:32 (CET)Répondre
Google tells me that says "hen a clear consensus has emerged, usually after lengthy debates it is unwise to continue the argument. Instead of reopening a closed topic, it is generally better to move on and improve the encyclopedia collaboratively.
There has been no debate, let alone a lengthy one, as the other editor has declined to respond. Hence there is also no consensus; and no closed topic. Pigsonthewing (discuter) 9 janvier 2026 à 16:13 (CET)Répondre
I don't think you get the point, nor want to get it: editing a wiki you don't speak the language is a problem in itself, and the haughty and indignant tone you used doesn't help either. Now, you can escalate this elsewhere if you like, but I'm done here. Trizek bla 10 janvier 2026 à 14:07 (CET)Répondre
Hello Pigsonthewing.
The fact that you added this image to a dozen wikis without speaking the language is indeed suspicious.
The fact that you are fighting to impose this particular brand is even more suspicious.
I don't know exactly what your intentions are, I'm just saying what I see, and I bet most people see the same thing.
I advise you to make a proposal on the article's talk page and let the local editors decide.

Hi, I'm translate this article to polish wikipedia and I can't find any data about the size of this church. Is there any chance that someone has this information? MatiThePlayer (discuter) 30 janvier 2026 à 15:00 (CET)Répondre

@MatiThePlayer Hi, if you mean its height, I unfortunately couldn't find find it either, even using AI. The only data known is the spire, that reached 34 m before being destroyed in 1761. — Pharma💬 31 janvier 2026 à 15:55 (CET)Répondre

A Request from the Serbian Wiki

[modifier le code]

Hello! My name is Uroš and I'm an editor on the Serbian wiki (sr.wikipedia.org). During my research into the topic of the 9th Chess Olympiad, I ran into an article detailing a French newspaper article about Yugoslavia being the host country of the Olympiad. The article was summarized and translated for the then Yugoslav audience, but the original review was written on the 19th or 20th of August 1950 in the French periodical "Franc-Tireur". Does any editor here know are there any archives of that magazine/of that article available online? Uroš Veličković Zmaj (discuter) 31 janvier 2026 à 02:55 (CET)Répondre

Dobar dan @Uroš Veličković Zmaj
20 August was a Sunday, so I suppose there was only one issue of this newspaper for Saturday/Sunday.
It should be this one.
Other issues are available here at Gallica.
Good luck, Şÿℵדαχ₮ɘɼɾ๏ʁ, samedi 31 janvier 2026 à 04:11 (CET)Répondre
That is the issue I was looking for! Merci beaucoup! You have done me a great service! Uroš Veličković Zmaj (discuter) 31 janvier 2026 à 14:41 (CET)Répondre
