Ndoi Bakundu

Ndoi Bakundu is a vibrant community nestled in the southern region of Cameroon, specifically located in the Konye sub-division under the Memedivision. This linear village is adorned with abundant natural resources and is home to an estimated population of 1500-2000 residents.

At the helm of Ndoi Bakundu is the esteemed HRH, Chief Moango Andreas Misodi, a respected leader who guides the village with wisdom and grace. The village is structured into four quarters, namely Ngollo Quarter, Fojero (Wati-Mboka), Up Ndoi (Ndiko-Mboka), and Down Ndoi (Banga-Mboka), where the chief resides.

The inhabitants of Ndoi Bakundu are known for their warm hospitality and unity. They are fluent in English and their native Bakundu language, embracing their rich cultural heritage with pride. The community members are peaceful and closely-knit, fostering a deep love for the Bakundu culture.

Agriculture serves as the primary economic activity in Ndoi Bakundu, with a focus on cultivating both cash crops and food crops. The villagers are renowned for their cultivation of Cocoa, a leading cash crop in the region. Additionally, they engage in hunting and fishing along the banks of the Moungo River, which meanders through the village all the way to Douala.

As one of the 37 villages of the Bakundu clan, Ndoi Bakundu holds a special place within the community. CHIEF MOANGO ANDREAS MISODI, as the president of all 37 Bakundu Chiefs, plays a pivotal role in upholding the traditions and values of the Bakundu people. He stands as the esteemed second-in-command to the paramount ruler of the Bakundus, HRH, Chief Mutanga Benjamin Itoe of Bombe.

The youths of Ndoi Bakundu exemplify resilience and dedication, following in the footsteps of their ancestors while pursuing education and entrepreneurial ventures to uplift their families and contribute to the prosperity of the community. Nurtured by the fertile lands and the spirit of unity, Ndoi Bakundu shines as a beacon of tradition and progress in the heart of Cameroon's South West Region.

En 1953 on y a dénombré 337 habitants, puis 608 en 1967, principalement des Bakundu, du groupe Oroko[2].

Lors du recensement de 2005, la localité comptait 827 personnes[1].
