Texte original[modifier le code]

Hi dear colleagues, I don't write French as well as I can read it, so I hope you'll forgive me for writing this message in English; feel free to respond to me in French. :) I found the text quoted here (attributed to 'Louis Stanislas Xavier Bourbon, Charles Philippe Comte d'Artois Bourbon') to be historically unreliable, because it did not mention a source that could be verified, and it diverged on several important points from two French copies that I found on Google Books, both dating from 1797, as well as the German text of A. Wittenberg at epoche-napoleon.net mentioned under "Sources". On en:Talk:Declaration of Pillnitz#Original text, I've given a more elaborate explanation of my findings, and why I regard Pierre Granié's 1797 text as the most reliable French text. I do not know whether the original Declaration of Pillnitz was written in German, French, or both, but Wittenberg and Granié are probably the most reliable copies of the original that we currently have. Bouillé's unusual capitalisation of certain words in French suggests that he translated from German, but otherwise he seems to agree very closely with Granié. Whatever the case may be, Wittenberg and Granié/Bouillé agree more with each other than any of them does with Bourbon/Bourbon, so I regard the latter as historically unreliable, and have replaced it with the Granié text. Feel free to add new insights or remarks that could further illuminate this matter. Merci Nederlandse Leeuw (discuter) 20 février 2022 à 12:29 (CET)[répondre]
