Soner Çağaptay

Soner Çağaptay est professeur turc-américain de sciences politiques, basé aux États-Unis[1].

Il est directeur du programme de recherche turc à "Washington Institute for Near East Policy", un centre de recherche sur la politique du proche-orient au Washington DC. En ayant un éducation concentré sur l’histoire de la Turquie, aujourd'hui il est un spécialiste de relations américano-turques, ainsi que les politiques intérieurs turc et le nationalisme turc.

Soner Cagaptay a obtenu son doctorat de l’Université Yale en histoire en 2003. Sa thèse est sur le nationalisme turc[2].

Institut de Washington pour la politique au Proche-Orient[modifier | modifier le code]

Soner Cagaptay est chercheur attaché à "Washington Institute for Near East Policy", un centre de recherche sur la politique du proche-orient au Washington DC, dont ou il est aussi directeur du programme de recherche turc. Après son établissement en 1995, le programme de recherche turc est devenu un centre influent pour l'information sur la Turquie au Washington[3].

Dr. Cagaptay écrit plusieurs articles sur les relations américano-turques, la politique intérieure de la Turquie; le nationalisme turc; le développement rapide d’économie en Turquie et la politique étrangère de la Turquie. Aujourd'hui il publie ses articles aux grands médias internationals comme le Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Times, International Herald Tribune, Jane's Defense Weekly, Habertürk et Hürriyet Daily News. Il publie aussi au Global Public Square, un blog du CNN. Il apparaît régulièrement sur Fox News, CNN, NPR, al-Jazeera, BBC, et CNN-Turk[4].
