Scooter est un groupe allemand de musique électronique. Leur style va de la Trance au Happy hardcore, même s'ils sont souvent catalogués dans la catégorie Eurodance.

Deux des trois membres de Scooter sont issus du groupe Celebrate the Nun qui fut en activité de 1987 à la fin 1991. En novembre 1993, Scooter sort son 1er vinyle intitulé Vallée de Larmes, qui est ré-édité en CD en 1994. Ils sortent à l'été 1994 le 45 tours « Hyper Hyper », composition techno rendant hommage aux grands DJ internationaux.

Leurs compositions ont souvent contenu des voix accélérées dites « pitchées » (Friends, Endless Summer, Posse, Nessaja, ..), des éléments de titres connus (Suavemente, Shake That, The Logical Song, Miss Marple ..), ou encore des samples du groupe The KLF, auquel appartient H.P. Baxxter, le chanteur et leader du groupe depuis ses débuts.[réf. nécessaire]

Ils reprennent des ballades (Eyes without a face, Walking in Memphis, I'm raving ou Summer wine), créent des titres originaux (Break it up, She's the sun), des instrumentales historiques (Cold Water Canyon, Watch Out, Trance-Atlantic), des titres Dance avec guitare électrique (Fire, I was made for loving you, Panties wanted, Does the fish have chips, Faster Harder Scooter, The Leading Horse).

Nikk, la femme de Rick J. Jordan et ancienne chanteuse de Crown of Creation, est de temps en temps leur chanteuse. Elle chante les titres Posse, Ramp!, Aiii shot the DJ, Nessaja.

Ils ont notamment collaborés avec d'autres groupes ou chanteurs : Modern Talking, Marc Acardipane, Bloodhound Gang, Fatman Scoop, Status Quo, Antonella Ruggiero et Vicky Leandros.
