Peter Coyote, de son vrai nom Peter Cohon, est un acteur américain né le 10 octobre 1941 à Colver, en Pennsylvanie (États-Unis).

Peter Coyote parle couramment le français, mais avec un certain accent. Dans son film Bon voyage, Jean-Paul Rappeneau a ainsi pu placer Coyote dans la peau d'un journaliste anglais, travaillant en réalité comme espion pour les Allemands.

Biographie

Peter Cohon, connu sous le nom de Peter Coyote est originaire de Pennsylvanie. Il débute au cinéma dans Die laughing en 1980 et apparaît dans E.T. l'extraterrestre en 1982. Il joue dans de nombreux téléfilms et séries et collabore souvent avec des cinéastes étrangers (Diane Kurys pour Un homme amoureux en 1987, Walter Salles pour A grande arte en 1991, Roman Polanski pour Lunes de fiel en 1992, Pedro Almodovar pour Kika en 1993). On le voit notamment en 2003 dans Bon Voyage et en 2010 dans Flashforward...

Avec Glenn Close, il commenta la cérémonie d'ouverture des Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 2002 à Salt Lake City.

Dans les doublages ou les publicités à la radio, sa voix rappelle étrangement celle de Peter Fonda.^{[réf. nécessaire]}
