English: English credulity, or the invisible ghost
On the right, two children lie in a bed, at the head of which appears a ghostly figure brandishing a hammer. To the left of the bed, a cleric is looking up at a picture.

Auteur Anonymous: The date Feb. 1762 is in the lower right, but there is no signature. Catalogue of prints and drawings in the British Museum suggests that the author might be one Golding. In any event, it is impossible for these artists to have lived beyond 1862.
