Connacht Rugby est une sélection provinciale irlandaise de rugby à XV participant à la Celtic League.

[modifier] Histoire
La fédération de rugby du Connacht est fondée en 1885 par six clubs (Ballinasloe, Castlebar, Galway Town, Galway Grammar School, Queen College Galway, Ranelagh School Athlone). Seuls Ballinasloe (fusionné dans Buccaneers RFC), Castlebar et Queens College (appelé aujourd'hui NUIG) sont toujours en existence.
19 clubs sont affiliés à cette fédération, dont quatre évoluent dans l'une des trois divisions du championnat national, la All Ireland League (Buccaneers RFC, Galwegians, Connemara RFC, Corinthians).
Le manque d'effectifs dû à la faible population de la région fait que le Connacht est historiquement la plus faible des quatre provinces du rugby irlandais.
